SymetiumOS

i hired a freelancer recently to develop a launcher for me based on my symetiumos part of my symetium project http://ift.tt/2bpIvn5 we used a service called upwork and suddenly he wanted me to pay through western union which is against upwork policies i said i wanted to use upwork so he begun making threats that he would sell my work and release the launcher himself unless i pay him 600 dollars on paypal whithin 2 days upwork specialists are escalating it, so now i am posting about it then again most of this of was already public to begin with ere is a full list of symetiumos and it's features, i wasn't sure on sharing it here as i have no idea what people would think about it as the os is very inconventional, the launcher is a small part of the os itself, do note that i update this list pretty often, i came up with these features myself but i wouldn't be suprised if alot of them already exist this is an operating system of android to turn android into a pc operating system this has been done many times but this is my take on it (i've worked on it for years way before remixos existed for example) for example the navigationbar method is gone unless you enable it, default it uses the same method a pc uses to close an app you press x to minimize you press minimize to resize you press resize, theres no back buttons on pc so why should phones have them? most apps also have their own back buttons now, this is as far away from android as possible as android is used as a base thats it, originally it was supposed to use linux until i realized a phone was able to handle everything i wanted in this os, i am having a rom made now of this os but so far i've heard nothing from that freelancer he gurantees he can do it and he keeps delaying saying he will show me later so i don't hold much hope there.

few pictures of the ui

slightly older picture of the ui notice the bad icons

picture of the ui running on my phone also showing the resize buttons note that this is just a picture, used a random app for it in this case nova settings.

another slightly older picture of the ui this time showing the icon categories at the bottom

first pictures i had made of the ui (minus the ms paint sketches)

[CODE]----------------------------------------------------------Symetium OS Features------------------------------------------------------

1.minimizing apps will make them appear at the side then fade/swipe away swipe to reveal the apps or move the cursor there
2.app Icons will Group under one Icon in the notifications bar (settings preference) (pressing the icon with a cursor will open the mousefriendly notificationdropdown)
if you swipe on the right side or move with the cursor Icons will appear each Icon is a category under Music goes Music files including Music apps it's a appdrawer/file Explorer/album viewer (swiping on these icons will reveal space for any icons you want) (these icons can also be at the bottom depending on preference or at the top)
3.pressing the settings Icon will show the settings menu and Tools related apps such as calculator etc
4.moving the cursor in the corner of the screen will reveal a circle pressing the circle will open a app drawer for mouseuse this appdrawer also has a searchbar for searching apps or even files, you can also set favorites to appear
5.when dragging down the dropdown menu the background will go blurry if set, all Icons are White and the text is White (as discussed the background can be adjusted through a setting such as blur strenght/transparancy or even a solid color (same applies for window borders) it can also be made to look like stock android if the user prefers.
6. you can enable to hide the NO SIMCARD Icon in the notificationsbar (see additional ideas for more information)
7.you can enable to hide the signalinformation unless it gets bad (not important to include, same applies for battery (see additional ideas for more information)
8.you can move apps around as windows, pushing the app at the top will snap it and maximize it once maximized the top border will show then go away (swipe to reveal it) just like when you play a game or look at a photo) dragging the app window to the bottom will make it red or fade, letting go of it will Close it
9. lockscreen has a Power and restart button, middle button on lockscreen is an arrow, pressing it will reveal set apps such as camera, flashlight etc (any app or button the user wants to add)
10.after inacitivity Everything will fade away leaving only the wallpaper i call this dynamic screensaver (not important to include)
11.another idea i had was adding the phone dialer inside the dropdown menu if you press the phone Icon same with things such as calculator or remote Control for tv
12.as mentiond add an option to revert to stock android in looks (without resetting files or the phone or anything) through an easy setting.
13.apps will run in the background like on a pc, if you have a youtube video playing and you minimize it will continue playing just like on a pc
14.when mhl/usb type c cable has been connected a dialog will pop up asking to select between two 3 modes 1.normal 2.pc mode 3.tv mode
15.add option to enable hotspot disconnect when not charging (hotspot will disable when the charger is removed to prevent draining) (dialog will show in notifications that hotspot is disabled to prevent powerdrain press to enable)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

clarification of adjusting of transparancy, blur strenght, color for borders, notification dropdown menu (this does not apply for the notificationbar unless you can add an option to change each one individually such as notificationdropdown big and small, notificationbar, window borders, category appdrawer background)

transparency (slider)
blur strenght (slider)
color rgb slider and default preset colors
hide (will grey out the sliders)

autoset (this would change the color of all layers depending on wallpaper just like windows does IF POSSIBLE) (slider preferences won't be changed only the color) (this feature can be skipped)

--------------------------------------------------Not very important---------------------------------------------------

14.integrate internet radio based on any internet radio app such as tunein (this would be integrated in the notification dropdown menu when pressing the audio icon)
15.integrate music detection based on any app such as shazam (double tap volume button or press the volume button in the notification dropdown to open the audiomenu) and have a silent detection in the bakground to then notify of which song it is)
16.cursor will be blurry or transparent (option to adjust transparancy, blur strenght as the layers would be great but can be skipped)
17.password protection for turning off the device and for folders if set
18. seperate dpi settings for both mobile and desktop mode aswell as tv mode for example desktop mode is smaller than mobile mode (android n already has dpi settings) (if pc mode is selected then the phone will turn into a touchpad and a keyboard)(keyboard when needed and touchpad at all times)

------------------------------------------------More additional ideas for later ----------------------------------------------------------------------

1. tv mode this would slightly change the ui for tvuse but this can be discussed later
2.when the phone detects usage (activity on the screen) it will display a message during a call rather than ring or vibrate (not important to include)
3.marking or holding on a file or an app on the desktop/homescreen will show a context menu automatically much like nova launcher does
move to (each category for the sidebar, documents, videos, music, tools etc etc)
remove
rename

when you physically move the file or the app the context menu will fade away

4.the keyboard will be transparent and can be moved around like any other window, same layer options apply (not important)

5.when the phone detects a bigger screen it will turn into a touchpad and keyboard (when needed) manually starting this would also work (not important and can be skipped)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
July 8: 6. pinning windows

lock icon in the top bar to freeze an app on the screen both in windowed or fullscreen, for example you can freeze a small movie playing in the corner and it will be like picture in picture ontop of everything, the app will not stay at the top in fullscreen to allow work ontop of the app, when pressing the lock in fullscreen control to the app will be lost the app itself will still be active, essentially turning it into a wallpaper, pressing the home/desktop button will not get rid of the app, dragging/pulling at the top or moving the cursor to the top will reveal buttons to unlock control of the app, in windowed, pressing inside the app will give back control of the app, pressing outside the app will remove control again until unlocked.

(UNCERTAIN IDEA: lock feature only works with the mouse cursor and will not show if a cursor isn't near it)

UNCERTAIN IDEA:settings menu to turn off smart windwow lock in desktop or mobile use this is useful for tablets where smart window lock is useful rather than on a smaller screen when smartlock in mobile is turned off it will only function in fullscreen mode meaning you can drag down the top bar press the lock to lock controls out of the app essentially making it the wallpaper.
