[GT-I9300] Possible soft brick, "There is no PIT partition" error

Hello everyone!
Hopefully you can save the day for me again as you did before.
Brief history:
My trusty S3 have been replaced by a new S5 about a year ago, due to a faulty USB port (which was replaced before)
Before setting it aside, it was working perfectly (software wise) running CarbonRom (the last version released around April 2015) with TWRP recovery.
I just got it back from replacing the USB port again, but now the phone is stuck at the Samsung boot logo.
Im unable to go into recovery, but is able to access download mode.
When trying to flash the last official firmware (I9300XXUGMK7_I9300OJKGMK1_I9300JKUGML1_HOME.tar.m d5) Odin fails with the "There is no PIT partition" error

I understand many before me have encountered this issue, and I have tried several solutions (flashing official firmware) and the solution here
I hope the last solution I tried did not ruin it for me completely, because now Odin shows this:
<ID:0/004> Initialzation..
<ID:0/004> Erase...
<ID:0/004>
<ID:0/004> Complete(Write) operation failed.
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
<ID:0/004> Removed!!

Any ideas are welcome (service is not an option, phone was bought in 2012)
Thanks in advance!
