Homebutton registers only in the middle, sides are unresponsive

My homebutton surface only registers touches in the middle. The left 3 mm and the right 4 mm are unresponsive. Is this normal behaviour? It is no grounding issue, as it registers the touches in the middle 100 out of 100...
